Description

The role is primarily responsible for the automation of investment performance reporting and analytics required to properly oversee the Pacific Select Fund and Pacific Funds manager platforms.

The Investment Analyst will work with the Director (IRM) to automate and deliver critical investment performance reports that go to the Board of Trustees, PLFA, PGAM, RSD and Life Divisions. The reports analyze the performance, ranks, fee competitiveness and risk of the portfolios on the PLFA platform. The Investment Analyst will actively lead performance reporting initiatives and enhancements to investment performance and risk reporting.

The Investment Analyst will also utilize and manage proprietary performance tools to interpret and represent attribution results.The Investment Analyst will assist and support the Investment Risk team in managing PLFA's 3rd party vendor relationships and train other staff in how to utilize applications (Morningstar, Factset, Zephyr, BarraOne, internal reports).The position will assist the Investment Risk group's efforts to measure the performance and risk of our underlying managers and portfolio optimization funds.The Investment analyst will support the Investment Risk team in the annual 15c process and coordinate with the 15c Senior Independent Consultant to review our portfolios and meet the strict reporting deadlines. The core responsibilities are as follows:

  1. Automation and production of reports and analytics requested by the Pacific Select Fund and Pacific Funds Boards, senior management, PGAM and the divisions (RSD and LIFE) to properly oversee and monitor the fund manager platforms.
  2. The Investment analyst will manage various investment databases and software so that they accurately reflect the funds' holdings, performance and risks.
  3. Daily review and monitoring of effective fund allocations against target allocations; and management of PLFA's daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting workflow.
  4. Support the Director of IRM to build upon and execute the portfolio construction and risk management processes of the PLFA managed portfolios.

The investment analyst will work to improve the accuracy, flexibility and speed of the PLFA reporting and database maintenance through learning and incorporating VBA, Morningstar API and SQL in the report generation process.
