Description

Route/Activity – Truck drivers are responsible for delivering product to customers. This is a touch freight position, using box trucks, pallet jacks and dollies to deliver product from central location to various grocery stores within the area

Shift – This is a 7 day a week operation, dispatching at 0400 daily- Routes will be determined during orientation.

Equipment – Straight trucks

Compensation – Hourly paid weekly-direct deposit $ 19.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

-Loading, unloading, or assisting in loading and unloading truck.

-Safe and responsible operation of assigned equipment.

-Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.

-Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage before and after route.

-Primary interface with the customer at point of delivery.

Non-CDL Driver Minimum Hiring Requirements

  • Must be at least 23 years of age.

  • A minimum of 3 years verifiable previous employment history.

  • Straight truck drivers - a minimum of 1 year verifiable driving experience within the previous 5 years with straight trucks.

  • Must meet all requirements in compliance with Section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (Qualifications of Drivers) if driving a vehicle weighing between 10,000 and 26,000 pounds.

  • Must successfully pass the Non-DOT pre-employment drug screen.

  • No evidence of more than one current license held.

  • No history of citation, conviction, or forfeiture of bond for the following offenses while operating any motor vehicle:

    • Under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance

      • Commercial Motor Vehicle - Lifetime disqualification

      • Personal Vehicle - 5 year disqualification

    • Leaving the scene of an accident

    • Use of a motor vehicle to commit a felony.

  • No previous history of suspension, revocation, or cancellation of driving privilege as a result of moving traffic violations or vehicular accidents within the previous 5 years.

  • Cannot have more than 2 moving violations and/or accidents within the previous 36 months (citations or convictions).

The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.

-The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.

Job Qualifications:

-At least 23 years of age

-Valid Class C (driver's license) required

-1 years of verifiable driving experience in the last 5 years

-3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations/accidents

-Reliable and customer-oriented

-Safety oriented

-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
