Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Posting Supervisor with excellent excellent customer service skills and a complete understanding of medical billing – coding, documentation, electronic claim filing, payment posting and accounts receivable to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. The Posting Supervisor ensures our organization is following any industry and payer billing changes that affect our organization. Major functions include performing day-to-day operations as directed by the Director of Revenue Cycle.

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a Medical Biller/Encounter Representative required.
    • Three (3) years of collection and receivable experience required.
    • Minimum one (1) year of management/supervisory experience required. 

About the position:

    • Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
    • Review, troubleshoot, and resolve complex account problems.
    • Propose and recommend solutions to the operational areas, where there are difficulties and/or processing problems.
    • Attend and participate in billing-related training sessions.
    • Understand the functions of the agency and department billing systems as well as ancillary products and workflows as they are rolled out to the department and the Agency as a whole.
    • Participate in Health Center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals.
    • Manage follow-ups and collections of outstanding accounts more than 45 days from date of submission.
    • Manage follow ups on zero paid line items and correspondence received daily – resolving the claim by either resubmitting the claim with corrected information or identify the appropriate adjustment code to write off the open charge line.
    • Document all follow-up findings and resubmission efforts in the patient’s EPM account.
    • Conduct first level audit of all claims processed to ensure compliance and proper payment.
    • Regularly attend Medi-CAL/ Family PACT seminars / update sessions.
    • Identify patterns and trends from payers and recommend improvement or actions to improve the Agency’s position in maximizing revenue.
    • Train new payment posting team members and existing team members on new processes and procedures.
    • Manage payment posting team including but not limited to performance management, setting productivity goals and work assignments.
