Controller candidates seeking to become part of a successful company will be interested in this opportunity through Robert Half Finance to take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department. Based in the Palm Beach Gardens, Florida area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position. In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. To succeed in this role, you will need to effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Responsibilities - Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction - Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time - Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management - Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll - Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis - Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities - Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month - Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible - Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation - Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis


- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment - 5 + years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines - Be detailed, flexible, and organized - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Solid understanding of ERP Accounting Systems - Proficiency in Financial Statement - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges - CPA/MBA a plus - Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
