Description

The Credit Analyst reports to the Credit Manager and is a key member of the Companys credit team. Among other things, the Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing new customer credit risk and recommending credit terms in accordance with the Companys credit policy. Specific responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Understand the Companys credit policies and procedures to safeguard accounts receivable Assess credit risk of new customers through analysis of customer credit applications, credit reports, financial statements, internet research, and other relevant sources of data Recommend credit terms and limits based on customer risk assessment while adhering to the Companys credit policies Develop a deep understanding of the nuances associated with credit and collections within the Companys business units Continually assess customer risk profiles and recommend updates to credit terms and limits Collaborate with the collections team to ensure timely collection of accounts receivables Ensure issues, such as invoicing errors and purchase order reconciliation, are resolved in a timely manner Monitor customer receivables and payment trends Investigate reasons for payment delay and create awareness of potential credit issues, including recommending actions to mitigate risk or loss Work towards target performance metrics, such as reduction in working capital and days sales outstanding Use performance metrics to drive measurable results for the department Perform daily A/R functions such as credit card processing, reconciliation, customer vendor requests, credit references, GL payments (applications of non-customer checks), reconciling unapplied cash, and management of the A/R email inboxes Build and maintain relationships with customer contacts as appropriate Complete other Credit responsibilities and projects including ad hoc reporting and analysis, etc. Represent Credit on cross-functional teams and support company initiatives Accurately and efficiently applying customer check, ACH, wire transfer, and credit card payments against open invoices as needed Performing the necessary work to resolve payment application exceptions generated during the automated cash application process Communicating effectively with customers and various internal departments to ensure accurate posting of customer payments For immediate consideration, please apply online, or contact scott.saunders@roberthalf.com, or call (216) 621-4253

Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting preferred (but not required) Requires 3+ years of experience in Credit Experience in a shared services environment preferred Any credit certifications a plus In-depth knowledge of the Quote to Cash Cycle, as well as other credit related processes and metrics In-depth knowledge of AR modules within JD Edwards or a similar ERP system preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate and negotiate with a variety of internal and external constituencies Strong planning, decision-making, interpersonal, and analytical skills Cash Applications experience is preferred Bi-lingual preferred
