Description

Robert Half Finance is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected services company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Honolulu, Hawaii region. Major responsibilities - Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll - Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations - Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities - Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts - Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports - Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis - Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible - Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed - Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

Requirements

- Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus - Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Ability to meet deadlines - Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued - Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges - Excellent attention to detail - Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired - Financial reporting experience desired - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field If you are interested in the role, please contact Melissa at Melissa.Tree@roberthalf.com all inquiries are confidential.
