Robert Half Technology has partnered with a local client in search of a Field Technician with an Electrical Engineering background with the ability to travel 75% of the time. Position Summary: Performs onsite installation, operation and maintenance of scanning and other equipment associated with software at client locations. Commissions, troubleshoots and optimizes jobs. Gathers appropriate data. Supports multiple scanner solutions in retail DC/warehouse. Solves various technical problems at job sites. Performs technician and troubleshooting duties, i.e., IO check out, estimating, commissioning, etc. Promotes sales of maintenance agreements, new products, spare parts, etc. Job Responsibilities: Travels to job site for installation of image or laser-based scanners and other equipment Gathers data of existing conditions using laser scanning equipment Generates data for use by designers Reviews technical support documents, application solution write-ups, FAQs and other supporting materials Provides technical assistance, via phone and email Troubleshoots and guides customers to the best resources to fit their needs including technical support, distribution information, and other relevant information that the customer may require May utilize JIC standard wiring schematics in performance of duties Supports multiple scanner solutions (e.g., warehouse/DC, parcel, etc.) Performs field technician duties on job sites Promoted sales Communicates with customers in solving any service-related issues Qualifications: Associates degree in EE, EET, EECS or related field; practical industry experience will be considered in lieu of associates degree Two-year technical degree or Engineering degree preferred Proven technical customer service experience with laser scanning equipment Proven electrical technician experience in a customer facing position with advanced knowledge of electrical principles Understanding of Electro-Mechanical devices Proficient with hand tools for assembly of frames and scanners proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Internet applications Basic knowledge and understanding of Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, industrial automation (PLC's, industrial I/O networks and Field Devices) Ability to read and understand electrical drawing schematics Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment Preferred: Understands ladder logic and can perform some basic PLC programming functions and troubleshooting Preferred: Knowledge of AutoCAD If you are interested in the opportunity above, please contact Brian Campbell at 513-621-6890 or at Brian.Campbell@rht.com.
