Plans, develops and implements programs to provide a safe working environment for Monmouth Medical Center employees, visitors and patients. Applies professional and technical management skills and techniques to prevent and/or control the avoidable loss of any resource. Provides strategic, programmatic and administrative skills in all areas of Occupational Safety, Health, Fire Protection and Environmental programs. Identifies critical issues in order to propose corporate policy. Makes independent judgements to accomplish programmatic activities while effectively utilizing assigned fiscal and personnel resources. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.
Four year degree preferred, in an environmental, industrial hygiene, safety or health related science, and five years experience in healthcare safety of which three years was in a management position. Certification as a Healthcare Safety Professional preferred.
