Description

Sage Therapeutics is searching for a creative, resourceful, integrative thinker for an important role that is responsible for business ownership of currently activated ZULRESSO sites of care (SoC) and prospective new targets for ZULRESSO administration.  This position will facilitate and coordinate all aspects of SoC activation including developing product advocacy, attaining P&T approval and protocol development, consulting on outpatient and inpatient reimbursement pathways for institutions, negotiation of GPO/SoC contracting, and providing ongoing SoC support. The RAD will maintain a high level of collaboration and integration with Field Sales, Patient Support Services, Medical Science Liaisons, and Market Access Contracting & Marketing. This position will require 40% travel upon re-entry to field per corporate guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Responsible for complete business ownership of assigned SoC accounts and supports all clinical, financial, and operational account needs

  • Builds long-term relationships with assigned accounts, based on deep understanding of the customer organization, structure, business strategy and priorities.

  • Possesses knowledge of acute and alternate care SoCs that are viable for ZULRESSO infusions.

  • Is responsible for GPO contract education and implementation with assigned accounts, where business appropriate

  • Maintains health plan/payer knowledge of medical policy criteria, benefit design, and other patient impacted aspects of Payer coverage

  • Possesses understanding of hospital and alternate care reimbursement in both inpatient and outpatient settings and can clearly articulate reimbursement options for accounts based on their business model and policies 

  • Works closely with other RAD colleagues to share best practices and optimal in-practice business models within market

  • Develops and deliver account business plans with internal colleagues.

  • Acts as a product, segment, and account expert, providing advice and guidance as required to drive full site capabilities

  • Communicates customer insights and SoC account-related activities to all relevant internal stakeholders and attain necessary resources and tools to support customers.

  • Proactively identifies critical areas for improvement with SoC operations and builds strategies and resources for account optimization

  • Works cross-functionally and collaboratively with Field Sales, Medical Field, PSS, Market Access Marketing and Contracting

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA / BS required. Masters degree in business, healthcare, or science relate field is preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical industry including

  • 8+ years of experience in Account Management required (hospital AM preferred).

  • Must thrive working in a fast-paced and complex environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations.

  • Excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.

  • Must possess the ability to navigate complex accounts and drive product advocacy with all key stakeholders and decision makers within assigned accounts

  • Critical understanding of institutional product procurement and reimbursement.  Infusion specific experience is preferred

  • Proven ability to navigate complex customers and build relationships across all key stakeholders, including executive management.

  • Proven ability to partner with Field Sales to drive market volume post formulary acceptance

  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution oriented.

  • Possesses the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
