SAIC is looking for a Task Leadto support the Langley IT Enhanced Service II (LITES II at Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. LITES II provides a wide range of support for Research Support Services, Application Management Services and IT Services across NASA Langley Research Center.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the work on the Airspace and Traffic Operations Simulation (ATOS) task order as well as managing the development of simulation software used by NASA researchers for airspace operations research. Numerous software products are developed under this task in a continuous development and continuous deployment environment.

Duties include:

- Actively managing schedule, resources, and risks throughout the project delivery

- Developing and maintaining project plans and a master schedule for the project

- Providing resource management support

- Managing customer and management expectations and communicate effectively to both

- Effectively managing the ATOS change control process

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant technical field

- 9+ years of related technical and project management experience

- Solid collaboration, communication and business relationship skills with customers, management peers, and team members

- Proven ability to manage experienced professionals (e.g. simulation software developers, simulation systems administrators, etc.) who exercise discretion and independent judgement while completing assignments

- Ability to solve both management and technical challenges

- Proven ability to coordinate and cooperate with subcontractors

- Proven experience of project management processes and methodologies, development lifecycle methodologies such as Agile, across complex technology initiatives

- Strong written, presentation, and facilitation skills

- Motivated, self-directed, results oriented

- Strong planning and organization skills as role will communicate with varying levels of team members across business stakeholders, technology and management.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and motivate others

- Experience successfully managing multiple concurrent tasks and priorities

- Experience managing project scope and schedule

- Must be a solid team player with the ability to take direction from senior leadership

- Willingness to use new technologies, processes and techniques

Desired Qualifications

- 5+ years flight simulation software development projects

- 5+ years of experience managing projects on a Government firm fixed price contract

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
