Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide guests and team members with safe and secure environment
  • Practice safe work habits including, but not limited to, the use of personal protective equipment, safe lifting techniques and reporting of unsafe situations
  • Ability to work efficiently alone staffing security checkpoints
  • Complete general security tasks
  • Inspect any and all bags entering to prevent the introduction of contraband into the park
  • Monitor all vehicles and employees entering and exiting the park according to company standard to ensure all are authorized
  • Check ID cards and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic
  • Complete Security lockdowns after Park operating hours
  • Routine foot and vehicle patrols
  • Respond and provide aid for emergency situations
  • Ability to work and maintain order in large crowds
  • Ability to complete Traffic Control
  • Ability to testify in the court of law
  • Serve as the Park Dispatcher, Communications Center, and Emergency Operations Center Officer
  • Work as Security Lead Officer or Officer in Charge (OIC) on shift, assuming the responsible of managing the shift in the absence of an onsite supervisor
  • Perform and complete assigned tasks from management as needed


Requirements and Competencies:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have an American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certification or must be able to pass all requirements to obtain certification in these courses
  • Must have no significant performance deficiencies within a 1 year period.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in shaded and non-shaded areas in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to work with large crowds in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to stand and walk for full shifts
  • Security experience preferred
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, holidays and nights across all three shifts.
  • Must be willing to comply with and ensure team members comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards
  • Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be detail oriented and have clear written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must have report writing experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • One (1) year of dispatch and/ or park experience or equivalent external experience
  • Must be able to multi task under high pressure situations
  • Must complete OCAT and PATH training and obtain both certifications through a class provided by Sesame Place.
