Our Production Layout role works on a team of project managers, project administrators, and designers. They are the lynchpin between all the important folks of our commercial flooring projects worldwide. They provide production layouts for production on Canvas, Print, Colorpoint, Taylor Tuft, and CYP Products. They collaborate with design, project administrators, CDS, and manufacturing. This position will work from Plant 94 in Cartersville, GA. We are looking for a candidate who has experience already in both Texcelle and Photoshop.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide Production layouts including rugs for an exact fit for corridors, ballroom, and other Hospitality end-use products for applications.

  • Establish and monitor procedures for 2-D pattern carpet CAD layouts for Shaw Hospitality.

  • Collaborate with the estimating department when needed to complete production layouts and work to prevent errors in production layouts due to scale errors.

  • Edits patterns to fit within the scale of product machine type - patterns supplied by the Design team.

  • Redesign patterns to side match for large scale jobs.

  • Communicate with sales on technical issues with production layout/design.

  • Communicate with the Project Management team to determine the custom needs of the projects in order to develop or edit patterns.

  • Willing to develop & rework patterns to meet the customer's desires.

  • Ability to develop and implement alternative solutions.

  • Identify, research, and resolve project application concerns and difficulties with the Project management team, project designer, estimator, and carpet installer.

  • Correctly understand and comprehend plans and create application designs for the appropriate materials and the areas in which the materials will be installed.

  • Properly log all project information, activities and file the project report and AutoCAD plans for future reference.

  • Prepare projects for distribution by performing thorough, inclusive checks of projects completed for production layout ensuring errorless projects.

  • Coordinate any changes, additions or developments that relate to a completed project with the production management team by correctly revising the manufacturing layouts, etc., and distributing the revised materials to the appropriate people.

  • Record and reserve copies of all revised information for a project keeping the project file, plans, and project computer files in chronological order.

  • Make decisions based upon professional judgment and common sense where facts are unknown and/or not clear.

  • Train and develop new team members (including sales).

Technical requirements for the role:

  • Experience in Texcelle, AutoCAD, Design, and Architectural Blueprints knowledge a must.

  • Estimating - Autocad.

  • Knowledge of PhotoShop, estimating and installation.

  • Have knowledge of carpet design.

  • Nedgraphics - Design Development.

  • Have knowledge of all machine types to Scale-out patterns for production.

  • Must be able to understand and work with pattern repeats.

  • Must be very accurate with measurements and dimensions.

  • Possess working knowledge in printing, CYP, and Colorpoint processes.

  • Partner with the design department to eliminate potential pattern problems.

  • Minimum experience of five years in custom hospitality carpet.

  • Four-year college degree (preferred), High school diploma / GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Design and Production Layouts.

  • Must be familiar with hospitality carpet manufacturing processes in order to guide and assist estimators with technical questions.

  • Floor covering/carpet manufacturing and installation knowledge and/or experience.
