This position will have the responsibility of managing and directing production operations (under the leadership of the plant manager) for a manufacturing facility in the Residential Division. Through the utilization of the Shaw Way business and talent strategy model, the Production Manager will support, and execute a plan towards safety culture excellence, a Lean/Shingo roadmap, and a Performance Excellence (PX) strategy. Fostering trusting and collaborative relationships are key to this position's success. The Production Manager must be able to inspire while leading direct reports and interacting with business partners and senior leadership.


  • Oversee day to day operations of Shaw Residential Manufacturing Division and ensure the management team performs their work in a logical, orderly and skillful manner. Ensure the facilities deliver the desired results in the key operational areas of safety, quality, service, and cost.

  • Maintain daily contact with department managers to keep them informed of progress against production schedules, manpower performance, and processing difficulties while providing direction and technical assistance when needed.

  • Drive and support a team environment in safety, quality, cost, productivity, and efficiency.

  • Monitor all cost, production, quality, processes, and procedures.

  • Ensure that all departmental SMS procedures and instructions are followed by associates. Motivate associates to work in a safe, clean, and efficient manner.

  • Provide direction to department managers while ensuring compliance with all company, plant, and departmental guidelines and procedures.

  • Promote favorable associate relations by assisting associates in resolving any job-related problems or concerns to include Process Improvement (PI), TMS, quality, safety, equipment, diversity, and training.

  • Participate in and lead Six Sigma projects.

  • Assign, prioritize, and follow up on improvement projects within the production areas.

  • Routinely review the performance of department managers and associates.

  • Develop systems to ensure improvement in housekeeping.

  • Promote and ensure implementation and ongoing development of SMS as well as ISO compliance

  • Review non-conformance flashbacks and distribute to the appropriate personnel.

  • Ensure systems are in place to prevent non-conforming material from reaching the final customer.

  • To develop department managers for continuous growth within Shaw Industries.

  • Work with internal departments as well as all other plants/technical resources within Shaw.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Directors of the Residential Manufacturing Division.

Position Requirements:

  • 4-year degree

  • 4+ years of management experience required.
