Quality Coordinator

1st Shift

Position Summary:
Entry level position with limited measuring skills. Responsible for learning how to effectively use all basic precision measuring hand tools, micro-heights, comparators, and other gages/equipment used at SIG Sauer Ammo to perform basic to intermediate inspections. Performs a variety of routine limited inspections in both Receiving Inspection and the production process using learned methods, including visual, dimensional, mechanical, optical verification, or functional. Includes operations support; data collection and/or entry; workplace organization and safety.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Support Operations in performing inspection of newly received direct material as part of Receiving Inspection. To document inspection results as necessary and update electronic system, i.e. Oracle, as appropriate.
*Work with Operations in documenting Non-conforming Materials and ensuring that the material is controlled and quarantined in accordance with local procedures.
*Champion periodic MRB meetings and process materials according to the decisions made. Processing will include, but is not be limited to, generating NMR's, rework and returns per Quality management/Engineers direction.
*Support Quality Management/Engineers with relevant data needed to effectively communicate with both internal and external customer and supplier concerning each documented Nonconformance.
*Coordinating RTS with Supply Chain, Supplier and operationally assisting Logistics in getting RTS shipments moved out of the building and sent back to suppliers to eliminate the carrying costs.
*Controlling and monitoring SCRAP material including assisting with the actual physical destruction of scrap material when warranted. Coordinating with Operations with any planning necessary to disposition items for rework.
*Produce reports on MRB, NMR & RTS volume and progress on a daily and weekly corresponding time frame.
*Efficient/effective planning and performance of non-routine inspection using pre-determined methods for product acceptability to support investigation of Nonconforming material dispositions.
*Using the company operating system to generate inquiries, perform movement of material, create job routings and any other function required to perform job duties.
*Assuming administrative duties in the absence of supervision in order to comply with company directives. Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and corrective action.
*Seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality, productivity and satisfy customer needs and expectations; look for cost reduction and service improvements; eliminate unnecessary or low priority work; initiate and encourage others to resolve impediments and act on improvement opportunities.
*Other duties as required.

Secondary Responsibilities:
*Participate in Internal Audit via examination of all noted processes within the Arkansas Ammo operational control.
*Participate on problem solving teams for driving to root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to prevention of customer escapes
*Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities, including requests for maintenance assistance when needed.

Education and/or Experience:
*3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Basic MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills.
*Fundamental knowledge of typical mechanical measurement equipment.
*Rudimentary knowledge of components, assemblies and product form, fit and function.
*Drawing reading, including working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances a plus.

Working Conditions:
*Able to lift up to 25 pounds
*Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
