Job Summary and Mission
Come be a part of our evolving Digital Transformation and bring the workplace of the future to our partners!  Starbucks is seeking a Manager, UX Digital Product Design to lead our growing team of talented UX Designers.  Come reimagine and perfect our productivity & collaboration digital products across our three platforms: iOS, Android, and the Web.  This role will partner closely with leaders of UX Research, Product Management and Engineering.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Leads and directs a team of new in career and experience designers focused on user-facing productivity, communication and collaboration features/tools.   
  • Provides productive critiques and feedback to the design team, raising the bar for team delivery of digital designs.
  • Owns design decisions and strategy, evangelizing across technology groups. 
  • Builds cross-functional relationships with leaders outside of Partner Digital Products, educating and guiding them through the process of shipping great user experiences for user.
  • Effectively advocates for end-users in a fast-paced corporate environment, imparting day-to-day design leadership that fosters a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between design, content, business and engineering.
  • Demonstrates collaboration and innovation at various levels and executive presence. 
  • Works effectively cross-functionally to define, manage and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrates a deep expertise of the many facets of human-centered design and user experience spanning UX strategy, experience/interaction design, user research/assessment, prototyping, visual design, and user adoption.
  • Remains informed of the latest digital trends and process methodologies and helps team to do the same.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of common front-end / UI technologies and an interest to learn more in this space.
  • Leverages a broad portfolio of UX-focused work for web and mobile applications.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively to audiences at varying levels of leadership throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrates strong ability to communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale and design details verbally and in writing.
     


Job Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+years experience of UX design for digital products
  • 5+ Years experience managing designers and giving actionable design feedback managing teams 
  • 1+ years experience overseeing the development or maintenance of a design system
  • Self-starter able to work in an agile environment with other disciplines in quick design loop
  • Experience leading cross-team efforts and collaborating with engineering, design and product management.
  • Experience designing for iOS 
  • Familiarity with relevant front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/Javascript) and their affordances and limitations

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • 250K Contract and Budget oversight 
  • Familiarity with design technologies - Figma, Qualtrics, Dovetail, Axure and/or other digital design technologies 
  • Building the capability of others in areas outside of your professional expertise by asking questions that generate insight and connecting them to resources to help them grow and develop
  • Broad and diverse perspectives and planning across a longer time horizon
