Description
- As a technical expert, support needs related to the assembly processes of foaming, brazing, helium leak testing and refrigerant charging for New Product Development (NPD) projects, including:
- Automated polyurethane foaming systems and support equipment
- Assembly, testing, and charging of sealed systems and sealed system components
- Bulk storage and delivery of refrigerants, foam components and tracer gases
- Manufacturing Engineering representative on NPD teams who works collaboratively to successfully launch new production equipment/processes
- Be present for all NPD builds and provide support in the assembly process
- Plan and conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates involving location of equipment, workflow, and labor balancing
- Create and implement efficient workstation and work cell layouts for optimal use of manpower and floor space to support the NPD project and their schedule
- Direct team in the transition of tooling/equipment from development into production; including the program transfer to production equipment, lessons learned and training
- Facilitate meetings with Manufacturing Engineering and the Business Unit to promote best practices in the use of our foam and sealed system manufacturing equipment
- Identify and develop training initiatives for Manufacturing and Business Unit engineers.
- Ensure that quality levels and industry standards are maintained or improved in the manufacturing process
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and solve new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes
- Solicit feedback from both internal/external customers for process, quality and safety improvements and analyze implementation
- Opportunities to lead and develop technicians or engineers.
Qualifications
Education
Required
- Engineering: Bachelors degree or better
- Mechanical Engineering: Bachelors degree or better
- Industrial Engineering: Bachelors degree or better
Experience
Preferred
- • Ability to multi-task
- • Minimum 2 years of related work experience required - 8+ years preferred
- • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing process concepts
- • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization (internally and externally)
