Although located at SEWS-BG Corporate Office, this is a flexible Work from Home position, which means an associate has the flexibility to work from home but is expected to report to the local office as needed or required.
BASIC PURPOSE:
This position will provide payroll support to the Bowling Green Administrative office with the primary role of processing biweekly payroll for both U.S. and SEWS Canada.
BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute payroll processing while ensuring timely processing of payroll checks, direct deposits and any supplemental payrolls as needed. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records.
- Work closely with the HR team to ensure associate new hires, terminations, LOA's, and other changes that affect payroll are processed accurately.
- Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications.
- Investigate and respond to associate inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, state and local standards for both U.S. and Canada payroll while staying current with the taxation of salaries, benefits and other payroll factors.
- Execute time and attendance processing which interfaces with payroll. Provide support to associates and managers with time and attendance system.
- Process accurate and timely year-end reporting (W-2, etc.).
- Special projects as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5-7 years of progressive professional experience with processing multi-state payroll
- Team oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage time and tasks efficiently
- Strong attention to detail as well as outstanding organizational skills
- Excellent customer service skills along with the ability to deal with difficult, sensitive and confidential information
- Preferred skills include strong knowledge of state and federal payroll regulations as well as good working knowledge of payroll best practices
- Proficiency in MS Office as well as ADP and Ceridian payroll processing systems preferred
