Distribution Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Distribution Supervisor will assist management in overseeing all day-to-day tasks related to merchandise processes. This includes effective leadership and performing tasks in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. The successful candidate's skill set must include trouble-shooting by following standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
  • Assist management with all day-to-day tasks involved in executing operational plans to ensure that the daily workload is completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Supervise manpower and provide Team Leader support in all areas of the department
  • Ensure accurate and rapid movement and processing of merchandise
  • Follow facility quality guidelines and set standards
  • Assist with planning and coordinating daily activities for team members to achieve department goals
  • Perform tasks as it pertains to the
  • Work with other departments within the distribution center to solve merchandise processing issues
  • Train, inspire, and motivate team to achieve desired results in productivity, teamwork, quality, safety, and job knowledge
  • Assist with hands-on job training to team members
  • Interact with and maintain a positive, professional relationship with management, department staff, store personnel, and vendors
  • Contribute to building and fostering a positive team spirit and high quality work environment to support company's goals and objectives by providing outstanding performance and customer service
  • Provide feedback and on-going coaching by practicing good servant leadership principles to promote teamwork at all times while ensuring a high quality work environment and a high level of employee morale
  • Assist with monitoring, tracking metrics, and reporting the performance of employees to measure departmental efficiency
  • Track information accurately to facilitate flow of merchandise in an expedite manner
  • Works closely with management team to recommend improvements that would further increase performance and productivity
  • Must be willing to work in all areas of the department
  • Provide a clean and safe work environment and maintain equipment inventory
  • Advise management of all breakdowns and maintenance needs immediately to ensure good routine preventive maintenance on all equipment and facility is in proper working condition
  • Special projects as needed and any additional duties assigned by management team

Work Schedule

  • The hours of operation for our distribution center are Monday through Sunday. As a result, flexibility with the work schedule and the ability to work any shift during the hours of operation is required. Hours of operation and schedules are subject to change and may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, or late night shifts. Schedule is determined based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • High School or Equivalent required
  • Minimum one year experience in a “hands-on” leadership role working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Computer literate and working knowledge of Microsoft Office in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with others and have good work ethics
  • Previous leadership experience in a distribution environment is a plus
  • Must have good listening skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide the highest standard of customer service
  • Must have strong follow-up and relationship-building skills and apply problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies with a high sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Commitment to excellence and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills, multi-tasking, and ability to prioritize departmental tasks
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and friendly attitude at all times
  • Must be goal-oriented and task driven
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, encourage, and lead team members
  • Experience in the use of warehouse technology equipment and tools (radio-frequency scanners)

Physical Requirements

  • Continuously standing, walking, sitting, reaching and working overhead, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, and crawling
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
  • Frequent use of ladders and/or lift equipment
  • Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more
