At Terumo Cardiovascular, we develop, manufacture and distribute medical devices for cardiac and vascular surgery with an emphasis on cardiopulmonary bypass, intra-operative monitoring and vascular grafting. This includes a full-line of perfusion products, endoscopic vessel harvesting products and surgical stabilization products. This position is responsible for representing the needs of the user throughout the medical device design process while balancing business needs and technical feasibility. This includes planning and executing prescribed usability-related activities, testing, and analyses for new product designs and for improvements/design changes to currently marketed products in order to ensure that they meet user needs and intended use.
1. In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures. 2. Represent the user experience in project and design meetings, and problem-solving exercises. 3. Author usability engineering plans, reports, and meeting minutes. 4. Evaluate user interactions, conduct usability studies and analyses, and present recommendations that drive design improvements. 5. Create and follow design guidelines to define the user interface for new and existing applications and features. Apply device-user interface design standards to ensure consistency. 6. Develop storyboards, mockups, and/or prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and gauge the usability of new and existing applications. 7. Assist with cause identification and problem resolution for various types of production or service-related issues. 8. Perform other duties as assigned.
