Description

The Creative Group is seeking a success-driven and detail-oriented Public and Media Relations Manager with a strong background in public and media relations within a production company, studio, or entertainment agency. The selected candidate will support one of our industry-leading television networks in strategizes and implementing publicity plans, press coverage, viewership, awareness and special events. Public and Media Relations Manager Responsibilities Include: Oversee publicity campaigns from strategy to execution for original movies, reality television, and award show specials Support events and corporate communication efforts Maximize talent participation at publicity events, working closely with on-air personalities, publicists and actors Support Director of Public Relations to establish and maintain timelines and project budgets, oversee press strategies and materials Edit and write press releases, bios, press briefings, talking points, press kits and creative, and manage communication flow to tv critics, editors and writers Generate publicity around network and pitch programming to press, facilitate press interviews, teleconferences, media tours and other controlled media outreach Manage external relationships with media, to include, print, electronic, radio and digital outlets Generate high-impact editorial placements in key national consumer and trade publications. Organize press appearances and briefings, set visits, visibility at festivals, conferences, etc. Work cross-departmentally with Ad Sales, Digital Media, Information Technology, and Marketing on communication efforts Qualifications Include: BS/BA degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field 5+ years of related experience in public relations and media relations (with a production company, studio, network or entertainment PR agency preferred) Strong understanding of television publicity, key press outlets/journalists and experience in launching and sustaining press coverage on TV series is essential Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure along with an ability to pivot in an ever-changing work environment Strong creative thinking, written, verbal and interpersonal skills Highly innovative leader who can manage difficult personalities with ease Proficient in media relations tools such as Cision/Vocus, TVEyes, and Critical Mention.
