How will you make an impact?

This entry level sales support position is designed to promote the development of the successful candidate who has achieved the academic requirements, may have practical lab experience and has demonstrated a customer centric aptitude applicable to the position, but lacks sales experience in our industry.

To be successful you will comprehend and utilize product features, benefits, and applications accompanied by selling skills to initiate the sales process, follow up and qualify leads, and successfully promote Company products and services to assist in achieving or exceeding the assigned growth target.

The primary objective of this role is to support the sales account manager by generating more potential customers through contacting customers, planning product sales and ensuring that customer's needs are met.

What will you do?

  • Become proficient in selling Biosciences Division (BID) product portfolios
  • Understand customer categories, ensure growth opportunities and coordinate with other sales team members
  • Provide an outstanding customer experience by using various communication methods to interact with customers
  • Develop strategic techniques to prioritize customer engagement
  • Provide a high level of customer service excellence to assist customers in the target accounts
  • Triage sales leads and ensure the customer is directed to the appropriate selling resource
  • Facilitate the information flow between customers, sales reps/ account managers, product managers, customer service and technical services.
  • Author quotes or send the customer to the appropriate selling resource to author a quote
  • Assist in managing the pricing agreement renewal process where applicable
  • Liaise with internal resources to respond to RFP/RFQs
  • Act on Marketing Leads (MKTG) in Salesforce
  • Review NEXUS leads from the Lead Shop and engage the Marketing team to support action on these leads
  • Log customer activity in Salesforce
  • Coordinate with channel partners
  • Respond positively to and expeditiously process any incoming telephone and email inquiries/orders from customers

How will you get here?


  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree; Life Science preferred or related lab experience


  • Requires a minimum of 2-3 years related work experience (i.e. – customer services, telephone experience)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communications skills
  • Highly motivated, results oriented and self sufficient to meet target goals
  • Demonstrates a professional rapport with customers and co-workers
  • Knowledge of Salesforce a plus
  • General knowledge of assigned product portfolio and/or customer segment
  • Ability to function effectively in a high performance team
  • Ability to work in fast pace environment and to prioritize workload
  • Practical understanding of the sales process & buying cycle
  • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office packages
  • Knowledge of web tools and analytics
  • Minimal travel may be required (up to 5%)
