How will you make an impact?
Join an innovating team of Bioinformatics Scientists and lab scientists to develop new products in the area of Infectious Diseases. The successful candidate will work closely with scientists from other R&D teams and analyze data from new assay products, based primarily on real time PCR and sequencing. This position requires innovating thinking, including proposing new strategies for assay development and analysis.

What will you do?
The candidate will work with a variety of genomes, including bacteria, fungal, virus and protozoan and be able to analyze these in depth. This position will support new products from conception to commercialization, and will work with a development team consisting of lab scientists, product managers, and program managers. The candidate will give frequent data presentations to both bioinformatics experts, other members of the larger development team as well as management. In this position you will use your domain knowledge to guide customers and field application specialists and answer questions on newly developed as well as other related products.

How will you get here?

MS/PhD in bioinformatics, related discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience.
3-5 years industry experience
Background in Microbiology highly desired.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Linux
  • Perl , Python, or R
  • Cluster environment , e.g. SGE
  • SQL to query databases
  • Ability to analyze experimental and sequence data
  • Familiarity with public domain data sources such as NCBI
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
