How will you make an impact?
The capillary electrophoresis R&D group has an open position for a scientist to work on development of CE instrument systems and consumables for genetic analysis. This system integration group's purpose is to help develop and release great products, on schedule, with everything done correctly.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for product development, a proven track record of either developing or being a ‘power user' of complex scientific instruments, and be comfortable working on prototype instruments. In addition, applicants should have experience in developing and executing test plans, and writing plans, reports, and other documentation. Familiarity with general molecular biology techniques is required and knowledge of Sanger sequencing or fragment analysis via capillary electrophoresis is a plus. Experience developing products in a regulated environment would also be an advantage for this position. The day-to-day duties of this position involve cross functional interaction with engineers, software developers, scientists, and other disciplines, so candidates must have good verbal as well as written communication skills. It is expected that a successful candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, demonstrates attention to detail, is action oriented, and a team player.
How will you get here?
- Bachelor's Degree required in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or related field. Masters or PhD preferred. Candidates with combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
- Enthusiasm for product development, and suitable experience developing products from ideation to commercialization in a phase gate process.
- Ability to innovate new product ideas and proven ability to work in a matrixed organization.
