Position Summary:

The Senior Facilities Technician will perform maintenance, renovations, and general repairs. The position entails responding to work orders regarding electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting or mechanical services as needed to support our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment and refrigeration systems
  • Diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair, with an emphasis on PLC and HMI understanding
  • Overall responsibility for the maintenance and repair of building system infrastructure, including upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment and electrical systems
  • Provide basic maintenance and repair of plumbing systems as directed, to include repair of leaking fixtures, unclogging drains
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and perform basic repair of minor building electrical problems, such as changing lamps, ballasts, fixtures, switches, outlets and conduit bending
  • Fabricate or repair machine tools and industrial machines
  • Assemble and test operate machines to verify correction of malfunction

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 4 year experience performing repairs and maintenance on PLC, HMI, controlled systems and HVAC , refrigeration equipment
  • Proficient familiarity with and use of all hand tools and power tools
  • Broad knowledge of practices and techniques of general construction, repair and maintenance in a commercial environment
  • Knowledge of doors/hardware (locksets, door closures, frames)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to handle heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required
  • Lifting of objects up to 100 lbs. may be necessary on a consistent basis
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to weld, plumb and manage general carpentry projects
  • Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns
  • Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification
