How will you make an impact?
The Senior Program Manager provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated individual with strong program management experience and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate successful facilitation, organizational, and influencing skills. This candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in managing a range of complex, high-impact projects simultaneously.

What will you do?
The Senior Program Manager will be accountable for the development and execution on project timelines and overall program goals from initial concept through successful commercialization, and project closure. The Senior Program Manager will also be responsible for identifying and resolving or escalating resource conflicts and gaps. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for working with internal and external resources to deliver exceptional, high quality project plans across all phases from concept to market on multiple projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establish and maintain Program Development Plans and functionally integrated project schedules to enable accurate project, financial and portfolio analyses and ensure accurate inputs are provided into business planning processes. Ensure alignment with project sub-teams and functional partners.
  • Oversee and prepare project team budget including resources and costs, collaborating with Finance and other cross-functional departments.
  • Communicate, document and archive project team activities and decisions. Act as a primary contact for project team related information.
  • Facilitate project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for streamlining team and business processes.
  • Partner with the team leader to ensure the team achieves and maintains a high-level of sustainable performance by contributing to appropriate team management best practices.
  • Demonstrates an ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities, to be flexible with respect to job assignments and both functional and cross-functional responsibilities; specifically, shows active and timely participation in revising and refining assigned projects and responsibilities based on project or business changes.
  • Regularly reviews project team progress and uses processes, tools and other related resources to ensure effective team dynamics and decision-making, as well as effective interactions with all internal and external collaborators.
  • Prepare and track project budget including resources and costs, collaborating with Finance and other cross-functional departments.
  • Builds high morale and team commitments to goals and objectives by creating a compelling sense of common purpose and direction.
  • Provides mentorship, if applicable

How will you get here?
Education/Experience:

  • Required: BS in Molecular Biology, Genetics or Engineering
  • Preferred: MS or PhD
  • PMP certification strongly preferred
  • Proficient with project management principles (e.g., resource allocation, cost estimation, risks analysis).
  • Proficient with project management tools and applications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project).
  • Greater than 7 years multi-disciplinary knowledge of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years direct project management in drug development
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Strong proficiency with the application of project management practices, tools, and methodology to the drug development process
  • Financial acumen; capable of planning and oversight of project budgets and product valuations; understanding of portfolio management concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with customers and key stakeholders, good conflict management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, with an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way
  • Confident when interacting with various levels of management, stays focused and on-point, and is able to raise problems or challenges in a productive manner.
  • Strong presentation skills; highly effective at summarizing and presenting decision points and key considerations.
  • Strong influencing skills; proven ability to get things done without formal authority.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively articulate complex concepts and ideas to broad audiences.
  • Ability to translate strategy into action; strong influence, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of good decision making and exercising sound judgement
  • Results and detail-oriented; self-motivated
  • Experience using Project Management software to manage complex project timelines and resources
  • You will need to be comfortable collaborating and communicating with stakeholders at all levels both within and external to the company. Global experience strongly preferred.
