Our Customer Channels Group (CCG) is actively seeking a
Permanent Contract, located in Illkirch (dep. 67, France), in Loughborough (United Kingdom) or remotely in France, the UK or Germany.
The Sourcing Specialist is a key role within the European Portfolio Management function, responsible for a professional, collaborative and consistent approach to product cost management in line with the broader portfolio management strategy. The Sourcing Specialist will be charged with proactive negotiations of total cost of ownership with suppliers throughout the year incl. support of the annual cost-roll and the implementation of processes used to monitor cost variance, sourcing effectiveness and adherence to terms of agreement. Furthermore, the Sourcing Specialist will be accountable for contract negotiations with Suppliers in assigned category, effectively combining input from internal stakeholders with own focus on terms & conditions.
Supports European Portfolio Management to deliver key COGS category performance indicators, including: Savings, supplier rationalization, low-cost region sourcing, risk management, spend under agreement, joint innovation, supplier performance, etc.
Supports the Category Management plans in cooperation with the Sourcing Manager by focusing on sourcing optimization and procurement cost control. Prioritizes to ensure alignment with regional and global category priorities and strategies.
In line with European Portfolio Management goals, supports the development and drives 3-5 years European sourcing strategies focused on identifying and contracting with strategic suppliers that meet key supplier ranking criteria and business needs.
Negotiates contracts with Suppliers in line with the company strategy.
Engages and supports division/site procurement teams and other key stakeholders to qualify strategic suppliers and migrate spend from incumbent, non-strategic suppliers.
Assists Sourcing Manager and Category Managers in conducting supplier business reviews with strategic suppliers to ensure both parties meet obligations under the terms of agreement, including performance standards and continuous improvement goals.
Interfaces directly or in cooperation with the Sourcing Manager with category leaders in EU regions, as well as cross-functional stakeholders (quality, technical, operations, finance, etc) to ensure all category sourcing activities are aligned to a common set of goals and priorities.
Executes product cost negotiation plans.
Supports Sourcing Manager and Category Management team for the specified category by assisting in planning and conducting other product sourcing costs reduction negotiations related to:
-Bulk or UoM cost efficiencies
-Currency Standardization or purchases in local currency.
-Vendor Supported Pricing in support of promotional activities or specific projects.
Executes negotiation plans to gain rebates and cost concessions against purchase cost variances identified by Global Strategic Pricing in Purchase Cost Performance and Foreign Exchange Impact reports.
Executes negotiation plans to gain additional Marketing funds and improvements in payment terms from suppliers.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business.
2–5 years of international sourcing /buying or portfolio management experience.
Previous experience in chemical distribution is an advantage.
Proven record of negotiation capabilities.
Experience in at least two (and preferably more) of the following areas:
-Prior commercial experience in a product management, merchandising, industrial consumables or laboratory supplies.
-Previous experience in a highly competitive distribution/wholesaler environment.
-Current experience in high value sourcing and cost negotiations.
-Prior experience of international negotiations of complex distribution contracts with divisions of large global corporations.
Must be able to work in teams with remotely located team members where English is a second language.
Excellent interpersonal, customer orientation and problem solving, can-do attitude.
Multi-tasking experience and flexibility to address immediate priorities and still manage deadlines with longer-term projects and strategic initiatives.
Ability to quickly gain command of internal business systems; identify patterns and trends within data to assist with product cost analysis that will demand excellent knowledge of research tools e.g.: Excel and Business Intelligence systems.
Willingness to travel up to 20% (depending on location) some international is expected.
