Job Description

Senior Finance Manager will lead the Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division (CSD) Strategy and Innovation team, responsible for setting and executing the strategy for a high growth business unit. He/she will be the primary liaison between R&D, Portfolio Management, and on all financial matters, representing the Division's interests. The role will supervise one direct report and will report directly into the Sr. Director of Finance (CSD). This position will be located in South San Francisco or Carlsbad, California.

Essential Functions:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis leadership with timely, accurate, value-added information, supporting the Division's R&D portfolio, demand generation activities and capital investment decisions
  • Develop long range financial scenarios to facilitate strategic planning and capital deployment decisions
  • Partner cross-functionally to provide financial guidance on contract analysis, pricing strategy and business alternatives to drive overall business performance
  • Provide in-depth analysis of business drivers and market dynamics
  • Develop forecast tools and benchmarks/metrics for operations, implement common and consistent processes, strong internal controls, and provide monthly (and periodic) reporting packages on overall business results
  • Lead analytical support for special projects, including business integration planning and modeling for new businesses, products, collaborations, and other investment opportunities

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in finance/accounting or other business related disciplines (MBA a plus)
  • 7+ years of finance/accounting related experience
  • Diagnostics industry experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and financial system structures
  • Demonstrated track record of developing high performing teams
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office tools, particularly complex business modeling in Excel
  • Systems experience: COGNOS, Hyperion Essbase, SAP, E1. Experience with Siebel and Power BI a plus
