Job Summary:

A challenging and diversified opportunity exists for an ambitious Finance professional to play a key role in driving financial success within the Applied Analytical Technologies (AAT), part of the Chromatography & Mass Spec Division (CMD). The Financial Analyst is responsible for managing P&L forecasting, preparing for monthly/quarterly business review reporting, as well as managing processes such as AOP or STRAP . The role will be spending a lot of time for analysis and preparation of roll up of the underlying businesses for AAT. The position reports to the Senior Finance Director for the Applied Analytical Technologies business unit and works very closely with the FP&A teams of the sub businesses as well as with the CMD FP&A team. At the same time the role includes the opportunity of direct business partnering with the GM for Lab Automation (LA), which is one of the sub businesses, located in Canada. This aspect of the role requires financial leadership to grow the business and drive productivity, as well includes ownership of the P&L together with the GM.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support analytical requirements of the AAT Senior Finance Director and VP/GM
  • Manages the weekly/monthly/quarterly business review, including creation and distribution of packages and analysis
  • Support weekly booking and revenue forecasting
  • Provide business intelligence on business unit performance, opportunities and challenges
  • Model EBITA and profitability impacts of business dynamics
  • Leads all consolidation activities for AAT around the Annual Operation Plan (AOP)
  • Consolidate, report and analyze KPI's
  • Collaborate with BU finance teams on analytical and reporting requirements and effectively explains and communicates results to business leaders
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of reporting
  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required
  • Recommends opportunities for financial improvements
  • Is a key member of the LA team and business partner with the General Manager of the business
  • Leads and is accountable all financial processes for LA including monthly closing reporting

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 8-10 years progressive experience in related Finance roles
  • Advanced Excel skills; modeling, pivot tables
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management System or strong aptitude for multi-dimensional financial reporting databases a plus
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work as part of both a team environment and individually
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Career-driven, interested in advancement to further responsibilities
