Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will have experience in Business Relationship Management for IT and Project Management experience along with a technical background in Applications or Infrastructure.

The IT Manager will be responsible for understanding the business objectives, being the site(s) IT leader for one or more sites, and owning the IT responsibilities for one Business Unit within the overall BioProduction Division. The role will work in conjunction with IT Divisional and Shared Services leaders to establish and execute a Business Unit technology strategy / roadmap along with supporting corporate, group, and divisional IT priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of IT contact between the Business Unit and Group/Division IT, developing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders both within the business and IT.
  • Understand the strategic business direction in an effort to identify opportunities for technology innovation, assist with IT strategy development for the BU
  • Facilitate the prioritization of technology projects for the BU, and advocating for their priority within the division/group.
  • Own the technology portfolio that supports the business unit which includes the delivery and support of systems and services within a matrixed environment
  • Coordinate and assist the technical efforts of other IT groups and vendors to ensure the effective maintenance and enhancements of IT systems and services.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
  • The role may supervise other IT individuals depending on dynamic business needs.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: (required)

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related scientific discipline or equivalent education and experience
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective organizational and prioritization skills, regular interaction with key business stakeholders and Sr. Leaders in IT and other functions
  • Demonstrated management skills and understanding of project management lifecycle and portfolio prioritization
  • Strong written and verbal communications and the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users, and Sr. Leaders

Other Job Requirements: (preferred)

  • Experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry and working knowledge of Good Manufacturing processes (GMP) and Computer Systems Validation (CSV).
  • Extensive experience in facilitating innovation in business process and technical solution delivery
  • Understanding of IT portfolio management and evaluating project criteria on ROI, strategic alignment, cost savings and suitability
  • Significant experience interfacing and communicating with Executives in relation to Information Technology projects
  • Experience leading a matrix team of professionals and navigating within a large IT organization with a high number of technologies and technical disciplines
