Location/Division Specific Information

The Instrument and Enterprise Services (IES) Division is responsible for one of Thermo Fisher Scientific's premier brands: Unity Lab Services (ULS). How will you make an impact?

Reporting to the Director, Sales & Marketing, the Senior Technical Product Manager is responsible for setting the right priorities, strategy, and approach for ULS Inventory Manager. This position will play a key role in delivery of ULS IM project initiatives across the organization. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to define and manage project plans and enable technical and operational teams to execute.

What will you do?

  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing, Business Product Management, Digital Product Management teams, as well as subject matter experts in the Operations, Sales, Information Technology and Implementation teams in developing business requirements, test plans, processes, and support systems to develop and evolve Inventory Management Technology platforms.
  • Meet with customers and stakeholders to assess market needs and emerging competitive technologies. Analyze customer, channel, competitive and market data; support visioning and competitive positioning development. Share customer learning and insights with fellow employees to ensure that technology platforms are market driven and build a competitive advantage.
  • Identify global technology trends and potential strategic opportunities arising from technology innovations; collaborate with Marketing to ensure that technology supports and aligns with the overall Enterprise Services GTM strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional partners to drive strategic technical thinking and deployment of technology solutions to solve Enterprise Services business challenges and provide a competitive advantage.
  • Develop technology development global roadmaps to build strategic capabilities with internal IT partners and external consultants, define & securing funding, frame development plans and timelines to support these roadmaps.
  • Partner with divisional stakeholders to understand opportunities for prioritization, program expansion and new customer acquisition.
  • Align with Marketing Product Manager on commercialization roadmap
  • Direct IT leaders and project managers, prioritization of IT resources for the pilot, refinement and operationalization of technology roadmaps; engage with internal resources to integrate user VOC and UI/UX standard methodologies into the development process.
  • Present to divisional leadership on solution development, deployment, risks and opportunities

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years in leading business-side technology strategy and development programs.
  • PMP experience preferred
  • Experience working in matrixed leadership roles supporting life science, biopharma, and production customers strongly preferred.

  • Strategic problem solver balanced with operational, technical and practical implementation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and build strong alliances at all levels, including close work with IT, operations, sales, product marketing, and executive positions.
  • Strong leadership skills characterized by the ability to inspire, communicate effectively, and drive the organization towards common goals with robust management teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership without authority in a dynamic environment with areas of ambiguity.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25 percent
