What you'll do
It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

 

  • Participates in the preparation and analysis of all financial planning processes (long range, annual, monthly, daily forecasting) including communicating and collaborating with Business Partners.
  • Analyzes monthly financial statements and variances to plan (Income Statements and Balance Sheet) and shares results with business partners and Finance Leadership.
  • Analyzes historical sales trends and incorporates external variables to build daily sales forecasts. Identifies risks and opportunities and provides valuable insights using financial data.
  • Conducts sensitively, competitor, and trend analysis, and develops scenario plans. Performs other ad hoc analysis to support changing business needs.
  • Prepares monthly financial presentations for corporate finance and business partner stakeholders in the assigned area.
  • Partners with various project leads to provide market intelligence and financial analysis. Partners with business unit Managers and/or AVPs when gathering business needs and communicating results.
  • Partners with the business to provide support materials that enhance internal decision making.

 

What you'll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:

 

  • Post-Secondary Education in a related field (e.g. Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics. Economics, or Accounting).
  • Working towards business related designation (e.g. CPA, CFA, MBA) is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 - 4 years of experience in professional finance setting, with responsibilities including: developing rolling plans, sales forecasts, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, in particular the analysis features of these programs. Knowledge of VBA, Oracle, TM1 and Hyperion is an asset
  • Strong GAAP knowledge: ability to apply retail and cost accounting methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including facilitation, verbal and written skills advanced time management, organization, information gathering and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills including identifying issues, analysis of information and emergency problem solving support to team in developing solutions to issues that arise.
  • Excellent issue management skills including maintaining positive relationships while navigating through conflict management; and information gathering through active listening skills.
  • Knowledge in statistical theory is an asset.
