Join the Global Treasury Management product leadership team and drive the global payables business transformation at U.S. Bank. We're looking for a dynamic product management professional to lead our core payments business into the future.

The Core Payments product leader has responsibility for developing and executing the strategy for the core payments business. This individual has demonstrated success in identifying new revenue streams, leading and developing teams, integrating payment capabilities across channels, and leveraging new technology to drive revenue growth. The new leader will have a passion to transform and disrupt the payments space by delivering world class payables solutions to our customers.

Reporting to the Global Payables Product Head, the Core Payments leader will manage a team of 8 product professionals (2 direct managers and 6 individual contributors) who currently sit in Minneapolis, Chicago and St. Louis. This individual will also ensure that the Core Payments product team and their efforts are integrated with Sales and Marketing to drive market presence, customer recognition and wallet share. The individual will also work closely with bankers to ensure that core payables capabilities are an integral part of account plans and top of mind for the Bankers as they work to deepen the US Bancorp relationship. In addition, the leader in this role will also engage with the industry and peer Banks as well as Fintech's in a proactive way to help drive the business forward.

Position objectives

  • Transform the U.S Bank core payments business in a rapidly evolving industry, into one that will serve present and future needs of our Treasury Management clients

  • Create and execute on a fintech core payments partnership strategy that will drive short term and long-term revenue growth

  • Define and deliver the new global payables digital strategy

  • Determine the best way to organize your 8-person team to meet our clients' business needs

  • Create and execute on a channel delivery strategy by partnering closely with the rest of your payables business peers across international, faster payments, digital, and integrated payables and API channels

  • Execute an end-to-end product rationalization strategy in which you will decide what businesses we exit and which ones we'll invest in for the future

  • Deliver on a commercialization strategy that maximizes distribution of today's capabilities while building and driving sales for the services we deliver tomorrow

Skills you'll need to be successful

  • Extensive payments experience and understanding of where the market is headed to ensure our products solve for client needs and business challenges

  • Deliver an incredible user experience for moving money and data through every channel available to customers

  • Understand how to leverage and connect emerging payables eco-system players and core technology of the digital age such as fintechs, blockchain, microservices and APIs

  • Strive to understand industry and market segment differences in our customer base to deliver the best product experience for each segment

  • Become the CEO of your cross-functional team to design, build, deliver, market and distribute your portfolio of solutions


Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 10 years related product management experience

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • 6 years of experience in payments product management or marketing at a financial services or fintech company, with at least 3 years of team leadership experience

  • Master of Business Administration from a top university

  • Demonstrated management, leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Incredible communication skills

  • Proven track record of building and delivering amazing solutions to market

  • Passion for payments and helping our customers success

  • Experience partnering with technology, operations, sales, service and marketing teams

  • Intellectual curiosity and an innate desire to win
