The Instructional Design Manager 1 is responsible for leading an effective Instructional Design Team to design learning solutions for business processes that meet the learning requirements of multiple audiences. Directly and through subordinates, identifies, designs and assesses training tools, resources, programs and policies that support the business needs and strategic plan while being responsive to business line training needs. Regularly interfaces with line management to identify training needs and ensure the effective implementation, communication, administration and assessment of training programs. Plans, organizes, and develops training curricula, materials, and programs to meet specific training needs. Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content. Works with management to ensure course materials are current and relevant to training needs. Tracks and analyzes training programs by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance. Provides instruction and guidance to Instructional designers. May include the design of computer-based training programs.


Basic Qualifications
- Master's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Eight or more years of training experience
- Two to four years of experience managing a group of trainers and/or instructional designers

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Considerable knowledge of instructional design concepts and principles
- Experience developing training curricula and applying instructional design concepts in a Salesforce.com environment
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Ability to apply adult learning concepts and principles
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) platforms
- Experience working with Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline or other eLearning programs
- Advanced knowledge of a wide variety of training techniques and technologies
- Ability to effectively present and facilitate including the use of audio visuals, online, and other technologies
- Proficient in deploying and facilitating training curricula, materials, and programs the incumbent has designed/developed
- Well-developed ability to evaluate the effectiveness of training curricula, materials, and programs in light of business objectives
- Demonstrated expertise in content of assigned training curriculum
- Understands the business line(s) that the Instructional Designer supports
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
