Partners with the workstreams of the Physical Asset Optimization (PAO) business unit within the Strategy, HR and Corporate Affairs business line to create, implement, maintain, review or oversee an effective risk management framework as related to the Company's retail distribution and optimization activities. Collaborates with various enterprise stakeholder groups as needed, including Corporate Social Responsibility, Fair and Responsible Banking and the Legal Regulatory Group. Participates in projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Identifies gaps and informs solutions that minimize risks resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors. Identifies, responds and/or escalates risks as appropriate.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide compliance and operational risk subject matter expertise to support strategic initiatives and facilitate expedient speed-to-market

  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems of risk management and internal controls to support business objectives, maintain acceptable risk appetite/tolerances and comply with applicable laws and regulations – may include quality monitoring activities such as quality control testing

  • Collaborate independently across several Company business lines including Consumer and Business Banking and Finance, often with tight deadlines and multiple, concurrent projects

  • Provide audit and exam support


Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Ten or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment
- Applicable certifications

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Extensive knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact retail distribution of branches and ATMs

- Extensive understanding of the business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls

- Extensive knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies

- Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management skills

- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- Experience in setting strategy to drive execution

- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
