This Medical Officer position at Union Pacific is full-time and located in Omaha, NE. As the medical director, you will identify and address potential health-related risks to the company and its employees. Additionally, the position will monitor, communicate and develop organizational plans to respond to new or revised industry regulations and requirements. This position will represent Union Pacific with external agencies and other industry associations under the direction of the General Director Health Services.
Identify potential health-related risks and concerns to Union Pacific, providing medical expertise for the development of processes to manage the risks identified and provide risk level assessment Identify potential interventions and trends which could have overall impact on the health status of the employee population Serve as the internal medical authority and expert, ensuring proper application of medical standards by physician consultants Review and interpret medical regulatory requirements and provide medical guidance for internal program changes to support regulatory updates Assist in the development, documentation and maintenance of medical protocols and an overall medical network for Union Pacific Complete audits of medical decisions and practices to ensure policy, protocol and regulatory compliance Support Law Department as required including serving as witness on litigated cases if necessary and providing guidance regarding medical issues as required Perform other duties as assigned
A Doctorate degree with Board Certification in Occupational Medicine or closely related specialty A Doctorate of Medicine degree Licensed to practice medicine in Nebraska or eligible to be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Nebraska 7 or more years of work experience
