The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for the Sales Cloud database in the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR). With attention to detail, a commitment to quality and a strong customer focus, the administrator is expected to continuously deliver business solutions while maintaining the stability and security of existing functionality.

Responsiiblities include: Work with UCLA technical colleagues to understand, analyze, and improve upon integrated business systems and applications. Work with Anderson Computing Information Services (ACIS) to collaborate on projects to support improved data quality and consistency between the OAR and Anderson Salesforce systems.

Also: Lead the day-to-day operations of Salesforce for OAR, including designing data imports, developing and maintaining custom reports and dashboards, and training other Salesforce users. Manage the process of collecting, organizing and validating alumni engagement data from all departments and student clubs within the school. Liaise with all OAR team members to provide Salesforce platform support, and assist with driving adoption and knowledge throughout the department. Regularly audit and improve data integrity within the Salesforce system.

Must be highly proficient with Excel and SQL.

Additional regular duties and skills include data mining, data analysis, and data stewardship.

Ideal candidate will promote to all Anderson constituents the importance and value of maintaining accurate data to support alumni engagement efforts.

This opportunity is ideal for a person looking to gain more experience as an administrator of a smaller database org that is about to expand significantly. Flex work arrangements are possible for this role but it is not 100% remote and some in office time will be required.  


  1. Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM201). Ability to build and maintain Salesforce custom fields, custom objects, formula fields, automated flows, lightning pages, list views, dashboards, and reports. Experience with Education Data Architecture (EDA) model. Experience in data migration/bulk data loading into Salesforce. Required   2. Experience in hands-on configuring for prototyping, development, testing and other implementation activities. Experience deploying Salesforce system changes using change sets and DevOps tools like Gearset. Required   3. A Bachelor's degree and 4 years of information technology experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least three years' experience as a Salesforce Administrator required. Required   4. Familiarity with implementing data management projects. Strong data management skills. Belief in and understanding of the value and importance of maintaining accurate data to support alumni relations efforts. Required   5. Skilled at developing and running queries using SQL. Knowledge of relational database design and how to build SQL queries to pull data from multiple tables and/or databases. Required   6. Advanced Excel knowledge including Data menu commands. Extensive knowledge of building moderate to complex Excel formulas including usage of Lookup, Logical, Statistical, and Text functions. Required   7. Highly competent with Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and project management tools like Asana. Required   8. Ability to train users on software systems. Creative and supportive with helping people understand technical procedures. Required   9. Strong oral communication skills to speak using appropriate vocabulary to: provide information, explain policies, procedures, and system functionality. Required   10. Ability to multi-task, to prioritize work, to take initiative, to meet deadlines of assignments, to be flexible and adaptable and to work well under pressure when faced with fluctuating workloads, pressures of deadlines and competing demands. Required   11. Possess high degree of attention to detail and accuracy in daily tasks. Required   12. Skilled at developing process and system documentation in a form that can be used by data processors with minimal experience. Required   13. Strong written communication skills. Ability to have high degree of attention to detail and accuracy in preparing queries, reports, documents, and electronic communication. Required   14. Proven experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects, independently, working on projects as a team leader or effective team member, and completing projects and assignments with minimal supervision. Required   15. Demonstrated willingness to maintain knowledge of current tools and trends and to inform the organization about how they affect current practices. Required   16. Ability to maintain strictly confidential information and exercise good judgment. Required   17. Demonstrated working knowledge of the principles of alumni relations, development and fundraising. Work experience in an academic environment. Required   18. Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud. Preferred   19. Experience scripting in Python using data manipulation and statistical libraries. Required   20. Knowledge of and work experience with application integrations. Preferred
