Opportunity Details
- Serve as the lead physician for the practice of Malignant Hematology
- Assure the high quality and appropriateness of patient care rendered by members of the Division
- Participate in the development of programs and services for patients with malignant hematology as deemed medically appropriate.
- Develop guidelines to provide consistent care in the malignant hematology Unit.
- Coordinate the multidisciplinary care provided by the pharmacists ,nurse practitioners, fellows and consultants in malignant hematology
- Arrange necessary coverage for the Malignant Hematology inpatient and consult services at Shadyside/Presbyterian Hospital and outpatient care at the HCC SHY campus
- Assume responsibility for direct patient care when medically necessary under emergent conditions or on request by attending physician
- Foster the growth of clinical and translational research programs in malignant hematology taking advantage of our state-of-the-art academic environment and the expertise of basic and translational scientists across the Hillman Center
- Participate in the teaching and training of Hematology and Oncology fellows, residents, and medical students and additional mentorship
Qualifications
- Board Certified in Hematology or Oncology
- Licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Proven administrative capabilities in leading comprehensive programs and centers in a department, division or institution
- Experience and record of leading teams and growing clinical program
