The Agile Coach, Insights and Analytics, is responsible for the successful transition to a product oriented agile operating model for the delivery of analytical assets. S/he will partner closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, and the analytics delivery team to continuously optimize the way the team delivers their work leveraging Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Product Orientation
    • Assist organization in its transformation from a “project” to “product” delivery model.
    • Partner with Product Owner and Product Manager to ensure that the product vision is clearly documented in a charter/roadmap, and is aligned to value stream and organizational goals.
    • Coach and train Product Owners to evangelize an outcome-driven product delivery model.
    • Work with Portfolio Management Office to ensure Product Portfolio is resourced appropriately based on value stream prioritization.
  • Agile Team Enablement
    • Coach Product Owner in the process of representing the customer voice, driving clarity and alignment through backlog grooming, and effectively leading product teams.
    • Provide direct support to Scrum Master on high priority products or, where team member is not identified, play the role of Scrum Master.
    • Educate and empower product teams by leveraging Scrum and Kanban methodologies and tweaking for their own unique ways of working in order to become a high performing team.
    • Educate and influence internal business clients/stakeholders on the core concepts and principles of agile product development, providing continuous feedback, collaborating with and empowering development teams to say “no” when necessary.
    • Identify and proactively address issues contributing to lack of clarity and waste across the organization by leveraging agility health radars for teams to assess what is working and what is not.
  • Agile Facilitation
    • Model and coach proper facilitation of backlog grooming, sprint planning, standups, sprint review, and retrospective ceremonies.
    • Define epic, feature, story, task standards for analytics deliverables.
    • Encourage the use of user stories to drive persona and role-based analytics development.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Travel

Available for occasional travel as business requires (less than 10% of time)

SUPERVISION: No direct supervision responsibilities. Indirectly manages work efforts of product team, provides specific and balanced feedback, coaches team with input from stakeholders, and provides performance input to direct supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business / Marketing / Finance / Operations or related field required
  • Scrum Master Certification OR Certified Scrum Product Owner required

Related Experience/Requirements:

  • 5+ years demonstrated successful experience in agile product management or related roles
  • 3+ years demonstrated successful experience in food distribution, retail, CPG, or related industries, preferably in an insights and analytics or data-driven quantitative business function

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Agile Methodologies
    • Expertise in scrum and Kanban methodologies
    • Expertise in scaling frameworks such as SAFe, Spotify, LeSS, and/or Scrum@Scale
  • Experience
    • Building working relationships with Product Owners and Product Managers; supporting them in leading development product delivery teams
    • Experience working with Data Science Teams, Advanced Analytics, Business Analysis, Business Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, Data Governance, Systems Analysis, Data Engineers
    • Experience/familiarity with agile analytics
    • Experience/familiarity with Design Thinking and Lean Startup principles
    • Past product management or agile roles
    • Knowledge in emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and facilitating crucial conversations
    • History as a gifted communicator who can quickly build and earn trust
    • Proficiency leading through influence
