Job Summary
The post-doctoral research position consists of working with both O’Donnell Institute faculty and the curatorial staff of the Crow Museum of Asian Art at the University of Texas at Dallas while conducting research on the museum’s permanent collection. This successful candidate will work closely with the Crow’s Curator of Asian Art to build continued research for the permanent collections of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean art.

In addition to research, the successful candidate will be expected to organize and give gallery talks and graduate student workshops. There is a possibility of teaching one course in the spring semester of 2025.
Minimum Education and Experience

Ph.D in a related field.

Preferred Education and Experience
Applicants must have Ph.D. in hand at the time of application and preferably have a specialization in Asian Art. We especially welcome applications with a recent Ph.D. whose research is relevant to the arts of East Asia.

About the Edith O’Donnell Institute of Art History
The Edith O’Donnell Institute of Art History is a stand-alone institute within the University of Texas at Dallas for innovative research and education in the history of art. Research and teaching at the O’Donnell Institute embrace a global history of art that ranges across geography, chronology, and medium. The first art history research institute founded in the digital age, the O’Donnell Institute explores in particular the intersection between the visual arts, the sciences, and technology.

About the Crow Museum of Asian Art
Trammell and Margaret Crow bought their first piece of Asian art in the mid-1960s. From that initial purchase, a distinguished collection of Asian art from collections beyond the Crow Family has evolved. The museum, now owned by UT Dallas, features almost 1200 works from China, Japan, India, Korea and Southeastern Asia spanning from historical to contemporary.
