The Registered Nurse 2, Emergency Stepdown applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. The Registered Nurse 2, Emergency Stepdown effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.

- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.

The Emergency Room C Pod is a new fast-paced stepdown unit of special nurses for boarded and ESI level patients. It is an expansion of one of our three pods, C Pod, and will have 33 beds. Our nurses encounter a diverse patient population every day, with assignments ranging from the acute and critically-ill to non-acute and fast track patients.
To work in the C Pod, our nurses need strong assessment skills, the ability to think critically and adapt to new challenges, along with strong communication skills to care for our patient population and work with our interdisciplinary teams. It is a great unit for building and developing skills to launch a career in the ED!
This is a 12-hour shift, 36 hours per week position. The schedule is made for six weeks and we offer self-scheduling. We currently have openings on nights (7P-7A).
