Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) businesses build enduring client relationships through sound, thoughtful and objective advice. We help our clients by developing individualized plans for everything from retirement goals to business succession planning, to family legacy intentions. This position will be within the Operational Risk group that sits within the WFA Control team and will be responsible for participation in several risk based programs to identify, mitigate and control operational risk. The successful applicant will be expected to build strong and collaborative relationships with partners across Wells Fargo Advisors and the enterprise, develop and demonstrate an understanding of risk management framework for Wells Fargo Advisors, while, at the same time maintain intellectual curiosity, provide credible challenge, and deliver sound advice and counsel on applicable internal policy and program requirements and local, state and federal regulations. As part of a team, this Operational Risk Consultant 4 will play a significant role in executing and administering the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program for the Wells Fargo Advisors including but not limited to participating in process mapping meetings, documenting risks and controls associated with processes, leveraging loss data to develop initial risk ratings, conducting in person meetings to self-assess risks and controls with leaders across Wells Fargo Advisors and review and refresh self-assessment data on an ongoing basis. The Operational Risk Consultant 4 is a collaborative individual contributor role. The Consultant will initiate action and manage multiple concurrent deliverables without sacrificing quality or deadlines. Specifically, the Consultant will:

  • Provide guidance and subject-matter expertise to underlying stakeholders and ensure activities are in compliance with governing requirements
  • Ensure RCSA program requirements and deadlines are met and executed appropriately through communication with RCSA WIM program team, OBI leadership and other partners across the firm and enterprise
  • Monitor Risk and Control Self-Assessment results to identify changes and trends, respond to credible challenges received ensuring completeness and attention to detail, escalate any concerns related to the program and tasks to management in a timely and clear manner
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the Issues Management, Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Review Activities modules in Shared Risk Platform (SHRP)
  • Professional risk management designation preferred, e.g. CRCM, ACAMS, CIA
  • Ability to identify root cause of identified issues and evaluate potential mitigation plans
  • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring a risk-based program to assure compliance with governing requirements or providing oversight to a risk program function
  • Experience working within Wells Fargo Advisors (or external equivalents) sufficient to demonstrate a working knowledge of their products/services and key processes/systems
  • Strong time management and execution skills, including the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while delivering all commitments on time and with high quality
  • Strong technical knowledge of risk management frameworks and principles
  • Advanced written and verbal presentation skills; ability to produce high quality deliverables
