MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK ADDITIONAL HOURS OR VARYING SHIFTS TO MEET THE OPERATIONAL NEEDS OF THE DEPARTMENT.
Position Summary: Performs under the responsibility and supervision of the physician diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the physician to extend his services through the more effective use of his knowledge in the sphere of decision-making required to establish diagnosis and to plan therapy. S/he may assist in gathering the data necessary in implementing the therapeutic plan of the physician. A major role will be as a patient's advocate in the medical care system serving as confidant, advisor and liaison between patients and physicians.
Education: B.S. degree in a physical science from an accredited institution required. Graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program required.
Experience: Recent Board eligible graduate acceptable.
Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed by State of Maryland. Must have current BLS and ACLS certifications.
