Summary

Top accounting position, supporting business unit leadership, functional leads, and accounting team with financial reporting and analysis. The regional controller reports directly to the General Manager (P&L owner) of USA & Canada, serving as a trusted business partner on regional leadership team. This position is responsible for overseeing and developing plant level controllers and accountants.

Incumbents are responsible for financial reporting, strategic planning, and overall business guidance.

In addition, the position oversees the following areas: financial forecasting, monthly closing, SOX compliance, an effective control environment, and other general accounting functions, as required.

Key Position Results
  • Timely and accurate generation of financial statements and interpretation of key financial information for internal, external, and tax reporting and decision-making
  • Informed and well-reasoned analysis and reports
  • Compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Timely financial analytics to improve profitability
Job Responsibilities
  • Oversight, review, and manage plant controllers' and accountants' key duties (Financial Planning, Budgeting/Forecasting, General Ledger, Internal / External Auditing, Asset Management, Research & Analysis, Financial Reporting, Cost Accounting, Capital Planning and Appropriation, Business Guidance, etc.)
  • Special Projects / Ad Hoc Reporting (including M&A, new business modelling, etc)
  • Managing the controllers and accounting staff – coaching, training, etc.
  • Works in cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, etc.) to implement system enhancements to improve processes and create efficiencies
  • Involved with strategic planning initiatives at the regional and plant levels
  • Oracle design and reporting
  • Other responsibilities, as needed
Experience & Education
  • Bachelors in Accounting/Finance or similar degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Intermediate understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Standards (SOX)
  • 7+ Years of accounting/finance work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Oracle ERP experience a plus
  • Professional Certifications (CPA, CMA, MBA) a plus
  • Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) a plus
