Description

Summary

Strong team player with the ability to lead and direct cryogenic trailer design activities. Primary responsibilities include lead development & implementation of new trailer designs, provide primary technical support to the manufacturing team & the commercial team. Technical support for trailer repair activities. Requires strong communication skills and interaction with both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

Lead and direct the creation and maintenance of product drawings, models, and assemblies using Solid Works 3D software for use by manufacturing and sales

Lead and direct the creation and maintenance of product bills of materials

Review and approving design drawings for accurate engineering output

Manage engineering project schedule for on time engineering document delivery

Support product changes via established change processes

Perform design calculations necessary for accurate product designs & conduct design validation

Complete piping flexibility, thermal, and structural analysis to insure integrity of design

Support customer inquiries and make product design recommendations to meet customer requirements

Provide primary technical support to commercial team, participate in customer visits

Assist in the development of product quotes in response to customer inquiries, develop required technical document for RFQ.

Provide technical support and trouble shooting to trailer performance issues

Provide production support and work collaboratively to resolve manufacturing issues

Support purchasing w/material and part sourcing

Prepare final technical documentation prior to customer delivery

Complete & accurate designs that meet regulatory design requirements as well as customer specifications and performance & quality expectations

Design validation via calculations and FEA analysis

Timely creation of product drawings, models, & assemblies for manufacturing

Specification development based on customer input

Root cause problem solving and Issue resolution

Desired Experience

Proficient in Solid Works 3D modeling software and AutoCAD

Proficient in MatchCAD

Proficient in FEA software (ANSYS) and analysis, structural & thermal

Knowledge of Mechanical design

Knowledge of Thermodynamics

Knowledge of Piping & Instrument, electrical, and pneumatic diagrams

Cryogenic trailer design/manufacturing experience, a plus

Working knowledge of ASME design code Section VIII Div 1 design code and Section II material specifications

Working knowledge of ASME design code Section VIII Div 2 “design by analysis”

Working knowledge of ASME piping code B31.3

Knowledge of DOT regulations, in particular, bridge law and MC-338 trailer

Knowledge of CGA standards, in particular, CGA-341 and S1.2

Root cause analysis

Excellent communication skills

Proficient in use of Micro Soft Office

BS Engineering, and 5-7 years product design experience, minimum. Advanced degrees in engineering is a plus

Solid Works knowledge required, CREO/ProE and AutoCAD, a plus

FEA/ANSYS proficiency, preferred

Manufacturing experience and/or proficient understanding of manufacturing processes, a plus

Education Bachelors in Engineering General
