Salary Range:  $66,304- $110,138

Position Summary

Divisional financial and accounting responsibilities reporting directly to the Contract Logistics Group Director of Accounting with job responsibilities including but not limited to the following.

• Accounting and reporting functions for the group and its branches
• Prepare Divisional financial statements.
• Financial analysis
• Management reports

The ideal individual will have demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.  Strong partner with Divisional Operations Team working collectively to establish governance / controls while achieving profit goals.  Many of these duties will involve interfacing with other departments and will require a high degree of professionalism, tact, sensitivity, initiative and diplomacy. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review, record, maintain, reconcile, and analyze assigned general ledger accounts reconciliations and month end close processes timely and accurately
• Compiles and analyzes financial information for completeness and accuracy and prepares journal entries based on findings.
• Review daily transactions processed for accuracy and follow up on exception errors, ensuring they are addressed timely.
• Analyze financial data and trends to support strategic decision-making.
• Increase productivity through review and continuous improvement of processes and systems.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and improve processes.
• Perform Divisional governance and oversight functions ensuring compliance with Yusen Logistics, affiliate, JSOX and other processes, procedures, and controls.
• Assist in internal and external audit activities and JSOX testing and reviews, complying with all deadlines
• Prepare, examine, analyze and distribute accurate Divisional reports on a timely basis, making recommendations and/or changes to improve effectiveness of reports and processes which affect cash flow, expenses and profits.
• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.

Assist on special projects, duties and assignments as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's a plus. 
• CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is a plus.   
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with experience in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
• Experience in a logistics or transportation company is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Team player with a strong customer service attitude.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, D365, or similar ERP systems). SAP a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
