About the Role 

The primary responsibilities of the talent booker include making decisions and recommendations in the acquisition of the most viable models as well as total ownership of the processes surrounding bookings and casting calls. The talent booker plays an integral role is supporting Zulily's efforts to have the most diverse representation of race ability, and body type in the models selected. Regular partnerships with the Creative, Merchandising and Talent Acquisition teams are key for this position.  




  • Cultivation of, acquiring and continually sourcing new models with a focus on diversity and inclusion of race, ability, and body type. 

  • Responsible for model retention experience, partnering and following up with accounts payable. 

  • Partner directly with Talent Acquisition on scheduling model bookings, when applicable, and identify preferred model requirements based on product assortment provided.  

  • Prioritize, create, and implement a plan when there are last-minute model cancellations. 

  • Partner with coordinators and/or hair and makeup stylists to ensure that the scheduling meets timelines and needs.  

  • Partner and collaborate with stylists to discuss the model direction and the list of preferred hair, makeup, and fit options for the shoot. 

  • Function as a liaison between the merchandising and creative teams, using best judgment to independently determine when to follow a request and when to take creative license.  

  • Effectively identify and problem solve cancellation trends, when applicable, to retain top talent  

  • Effectively communicate Zulily's standard modeling process and act as primary point of contact for all models, confirming time commitment and photo shoot preparedness.  

  • Consider global stakeholder needs when scheduling models and take strategic action to maximize a model's experience into multiple different products and photo shoots. 

  • Oversee the coordination and execution of local casting calls and justify additional resources if necessary.  

  • Oversee the collection of model release forms for all editorial shoots to ensure legal compliance.  

  • Oversee check-in process for models when entering the building, partnering closely with Security and Facilities.  





  • Preferred bachelor's degree or 2 to 5 years' equivalent experience  

  • Experience working in the fashion industry and ability to identify talent 

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented; able to work well under pressure and to adhere to tight deadlines 

  • Previous experience demonstrating flexibility and quickly creating new strategies 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills 

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with competing deadlines and priorities 

  • A great attitude and an understanding of internal and external clients' customer service needs  

  • Preferred experience in Microsoft Suite and scheduling systems 

  • Ability to work in office 5 days a week
