Position Summary

Maintains a productive office environment by keeping the supplies ordered, handling customer orders and provides customer service to internal and external customers, answering phones and directing callers to the proper individuals, answering questions, maintaining files, and preparing reports.

Essential Functions

  • Receives requests for quotes, orders, and lead times from customers.
  • Make quotations on standard items, write orders, and relays pertinent information to customers.
  • Coordinates with vendors as well as other internal departments in handling purchase orders and
  • providing service to customers. Additionally assists with shipping and receiving as needed.
  • Maintain branch records.
  • Services both phone and walk-in customers.
  • Check customer and vendor information, stock status information, and order entry.
  • Assists outside sales reps as needed and assigned.
  • Works with Credit Department.
  • Assists in managing inventory.
  • Communicates with vendors, corporate and other branch offices.
  • Resolves customer complaints within their authority range.
  • Assists with shipping and receiving.
  • Orders office supplies and supports general manager/operations manager as needed.
  • Provides leads to outside sales reps.
  • Quotes both components and repairs.
  • Identifies leads.

Position Qualifications- Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.
  • Proper listening, oral and written skills, and command of the English language.
  • Possesses a high degree of organization.
  • Pay attention to details.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Completes assigned tasks under pressure and deadlines.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • 3+ years administrative and/or hydraulic experience or equivalent, hands-on customer
  • service or mechanical experience in hydraulics or related field

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Prophet 21 preferred or
  • similar ERP software.
