About the Role

Are you ready to drive strategic procurement initiatives and make a tangible impact on supply chain performance? We are seeking a dynamic Procurement and Contracts Specialist to lead and support a wide range of procurement and business activities that unlock value across spend reduction, productivity, working capital, and contract management.

As an integral part of our Procurement Operations team based at our Pinjarra Hub, you'll play a vital role in supporting Alcoa's Huntly and Willowdale bauxite mine sites, contributing value through the following:

  • Leading strategic sourcing and contracting efforts, including tenders, eAuctions, and commercial negotiations for contracts.

  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver tailored procurement solutions.

  • Analysing market intelligence and supplier capabilities to inform decisions and mitigate commercial risk.

  • Managing supplier relationships to ensure performance outcomes, resolve disputes, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Championing local sourcing opportunities and strengthen community supplier engagement.

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies while protecting Alcoa's commercial interests.

  • Partnering cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Maintenance, HR, IT, and Finance to align procurement with business goals.

  • Supporting global initiatives by promoting and integrating Global Procurement programs at the site level.

What you can bring to the role

  • A tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or related field of study.

  • Background in a procurement role, with proven ability to develop procurement strategies and negotiate complex contract terms and conditions.

  • Skilled in building and sustaining strong business relationships, with excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Strong analytical thinking, influencing capabilities, and a talent for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.

  • Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities, backed by sound business knowledge in manufacturing and a deep understanding of commercial dynamics in customer-supplier relationships.
