About the Role

Are you motivated by the challenge of unlocking team potential and driving transformative operational outcomes? Alcoa's Operational Programs team is seeking a strategic, results-oriented leader to deliver impactful improvements across our business systems and practices.

As the Regional Manager – Alcoa Business System (ABS), you'll be instrumental in driving the deployment of key principles, standards, and continuous improvement strategies to enhance the way we work, safety, productivity, and culture. ABS is built on Lean Management principles, focused on eliminating waste, optimising processes, and maximising value. Through coaching, mentoring and hands-on support, you'll play a pivotal role in solving complex operational challenges and developing capability across our workforce.

Your key purpose and milestones will be:

  • Collaborate with site ABS teams to design tailored implementation strategies aligned with local needs.

  • Working in partnership with the Regional ABS Director to shape a cohesive national roadmap, prioritising site-level initiatives based on system capacity and potential value.

  • Driving the deployment of effective operational processes and systems across sites, ensuring robust change management practices.

  • Elevating problem-solving capabilities by delivering expert training, coaching, and facilitation in ABS principles, as requested.

  • Identifying and supporting high-impact regional initiatives, including resource allocation for priority projects upon request.

As part of this role, you will enjoy being able to have a strong site presence, meeting regularly with your key stakeholders. You must be able to support all of Alcoa Australia's operations (Huntly, Kwinana, Wagerup, Willowdale, Pinjarra, and Portland), with site-based work required 2–3 days per week. The rest of your time will be a blend between our new CBD office and home.

What you can bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications in Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Operational experience within a mining, refining or manufacturing environment leading the deployment of business or productivity systems.

  • Skilled in operational coaching, workshop facilitation with a track record in business improvement.

  • An ability to analyse complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

  • Flexibility to travel across Alcoa's regional sites and locations.
