THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a senior software engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate possesses an innovative and problem-solving mindset, has a keen eye for Software engineering development, and is diligent and passionate about Technology. A successful candidate will need to employ strong knowledge in computer technologies, leadership skills in technical areas, and SW engineering expertise as well as a strong ability to compete effectively in a fast-paced, relevant environment while working with different teams of engineers and collaborators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch and streaming) that deliver high-quality, time-series and feature datasets for forecasting use cases.
  • Develop and manage data models optimized for analytical workloads (star/snowflake, wide feature tables, time-series aggregations) to support forecasting and planning.
  • Partner with Data Science/Forecasting teams to productionize feature engineering, data versioning, and training/inference data readiness workflows.
  • Build and maintain orchestration workflows (e.g., Airflow/Dagster) with CI/CD, automated testing, and environment promotion standards.
  • Ensure governance and security controls (access management, PII handling, retention policies) while enabling self-service analytics for forecasting stakeholders.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years building production-grade data pipelines and data platforms, with strong focus on time-series/forecasting data preparation and feature generation.
  • Advanced SQL and strong programming skills in Python (data transformations, pipeline frameworks, testing, performance profiling).
  • Experience supporting forecasting/ML workflows: feature stores or feature management patterns, dataset versioning, model-data monitoring, and reproducible pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of time-series concepts relevant to forecasting data (seasonality, calendar effects, hierarchical dimensions, slowly changing dimensions, leakage prevention).
  • Practical experience with orchestration and reliability practices (Airflow/Prefect, SLAs, backfills, idempotency, retries, observability/alerting).

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
